Christopher Szecsey

Christopher Szecsey has over 40 years of worldwide experience across more than 45 countries in capacity-building of individuals, teams, community groups, organisations, and institutions as well as with specific projects and multi-faceted programs. For the past 20 years he has worked as a consultant, trainer, and facilitator with international and local nongovernmental organisations (NGOs)/nonprofits as well as with government and multilateral agencies around the world and in his home country of the USA.

Prior to consulting, he served nine years as a Country Representative Field Office Director for the international NGO, Save the Children, on three international assignments in Asia and the Pacific Islands, two years as a Project Coordinator for UNDP in Nepal, and three years as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Ecuador.

Key areas of Christopher’s consulting experience include building the capacity of the NGO/nonprofit sector around the world including in the USA, providing technical assistance and training in multi-stakeholder collaboration/partnerships, organisational assessment and development, leadership and team strengthening, program assessment, planning, and management, and board of directors development.

Christopher has significant experience and skills in training and facilitation with boards, senior staff, and diverse stakeholder groups, using learner-centered participatory, interactive, and collaborative learning processes to ensure client and stakeholder involvement, engagement and ownership for positive change efforts.

He has served as a chair for two NGO/nonprofit boards of directors, on four boards of directors, executive director, staff member and volunteer.
